St Macartan’s Primary School celebrated Maths Week by organising lots of fun and engaging activities for the pupils. There were visitors from different career backgrounds to inform the children how they use maths in their job/role. Visitors included Peter Kearney (Down Minor Ladies Coach), Aidan and Caroline Smyth (Joiner and Smyth’s Vivo in Darragh Cross), Darren Dornan (Northern Ireland Amateur Snooker Champion), Ryan Dornan (Northern Ireland Under 16 Snooker Champion), Stephen from Almac Pharmaceuticals and Marty Keenan from Funfit. There was also a Maths disco which was enjoyed by both pupils and staff.
